Neodymium magnet is a permanent powerful magnet, the most powerful magnet in terms of remanent magnetization, coercive force and specific magnetic energy. Consists of an alloy of rare earth metals neodymium and boron with iron.
High specific magnetic energy and resistance to demagnetization in strong fields make neodymium magnets indispensable for other magnetic materials. They are used in various fields of industry, medicine, household and electronics. In order for neodymium magnets to serve for a long time, they are made with a special coating: it is either nickel plating or zinc.
Safety precautions.
It is not recommended to bring neodymium magnets close to various types of measuring instruments, electric motors, any magnetic devices, electronic equipment, this can lead to their malfunction or even failure. Also, do not bring neodymium magnets close to magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, hard disks, bank cards. Neodymium magnets should be placed at a sufficiently large distance from each other and from metal objects. The force of attraction is very high and parts of the body caught between them during a collision can be damaged, and the degree of damage can be different: from bruises to fractures. Fingers (skin, nails) are especially often endangered. Wear protective gloves. Avoid collision from two attractive neodymium magnets, which are fragile enough by themselves. Debris may form and fly away during a collision.
Keep neodymium magnets out of the reach of children. Do not let children play with magnets. Swallowing one or more magnets can lead to dire consequences.
