Job Description
The regulator consists of a variable master oscillator on the NE555 chip and a switching transistor Q1. The duty cycle of the pulses is changed by a variable resistor RV1 in the range of 0.05-0.95. Power is supplied through a stabilizer, which expands the allowable supply voltage range to 12-30V. The circuit has reverse polarity protection for the control circuit.
When using a load with a current consumption of about 10A, it is advisable to place Q1 on a heatsink. When using an inductive load at currents from 5A, it is necessary to shunt the output with a back-connected Schottky diode, installing it on a radiator. The maximum allowable current of the shunt diode should exceed the maximum load current by 30-100% with a margin.

Notes:
1. When using, it should be borne in mind that the device regulates the average current in the load, and the pulse current remains unchanged and maximum.
2. Set the variable resistor last.
3. When switching on for the first time, check the connection for the absence of short circuits and set the regulator to the MIN position.
