End mill "corn" for CNC machines.
A cutter for PCB is intended primarily for milling printed circuit boards along a contour, but the scope of such cutters is much wider: processing fiberglass and textolite, hard wood, laminated plastic, aluminum, composite materials.
The surface of the cutter is made in the form of pyramids, the sharp edges of which are cutting edges.
It should be noted that due to the lack of chip removal, the processing speed is low. But unlike multi-line cutters, "corn" can handle almost any material, including abrasive ones. Chips are strongly crushed, it is good to use for lined materials, for example, for foil-clad fiberglass, both one-sided and double-sided.
Another advantage is that this cutter does not pull out the cut parts.
Tungsten carbide alloy cutting edge.
A protective titanium nitride (TiN) coating is applied to the cutting edge to increase abrasion resistance.
RCF type: the end of the cutter resembles a fishtail. With a face pass after machining, it gives a flat, flat surface.
Characteristics:
-
diameter of the working part: 3.0 mm
-
shank diameter: 3.175 mm
-
cutting length: 10-12 mm
-
total cutter length: 38 mm
-
cutter type: RCF
-
material: tungsten carbide
-
coating: titanium nitride (TiN)
-
hardness: HRC 55
The service life of the cutter depends on the quality of the equipment used. Long tool life can be achieved using a well maintained CNC machine. The machine must be equipped with good holding feet.
