Pyroelectric infrared motion sensor module HC-SR501 on the sensitive element PIR 500BP . Allows you to detect the movements of a person or a large animal in the controlled area at a distance of up to 7 meters. A Fresnel lens is installed on the sensing element, which is used to increase the field of view and enhance the incoming infrared signal. It is used in security systems and automatic lighting.
The module has two modes of operation:
1. Mode H - in this mode, when the sensor is triggered several times in a row, its output (OUT) remains a high logic level.
2. Mode L - in this mode, a separate impulse appears at the output each time the sensor is triggered.
Several controls and settings are installed on the sensor. A jumper is installed to switch operating modes (Mode H - right position, Mode L - left position). There are also two trimming resistors on the board: the left one adjusts the sensitivity (from 3 to 7 m), the right one sets the time during which, when motion is detected, the OUT will be a logical unit (from 5 to 300 seconds).
The HC-SR501 infrared motion detector has one interface for connecting to the microcontroller. This is a 3 pin male interface for connecting to a microcontroller.
Contacts: OUT (output signal) - contact for data exchange between the sensor and the microcontroller; VCC - supply voltage; GND - common contact.
The sensor is powered either from the Arduino controller, or from another microprocessor control device, or from an external power source (power supply, battery). Sensor supply voltage 4.5 - 20 V.
